The Oakridge School athletes made a great showing at the Spring SPC State Championships.
In Track, senior Breonica Coleman became only the 2nd two-time SPC track champion in Oakridge history. She won the 200 meter and also came in 4th in the 100 meter finals. Junior Trent Hall took first in the 100 meter and placed 2nd in the 200 meter. Sophomore Funmi Solano was the team’s third individual points winner with a 5th place finish in the 400 meter.
The Boys Tennis team also had a great weekend at SPC. They beat John Cooper in the first round but fell to Houston Christian in the quarterfinals. The team then rebounded, beating St. Mark's for the first time in school history. Sophomore Avery Pennywell and junior Jon Patel’s performances in their single’s matches helped the team to take 5th this year at SPC.
The Oakridge Softball and Baseball teams also played at SPC against tough competitors. Congratulations to all of our Owl athletes on a fantastic spring season.
