Eleven Oakridge 7th graders recently received special recognition for their scores on the Duke TIP SAT test.
In order to participate in the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP), students must first qualify via scores on standardized tests. At Oakridge, 22 students qualified and 17 chose to enroll to take the SAT. Of those 17, 11 students received state recognition and one also received national recognition. This means those students had scores that were as good as or better than juniors and seniors who sat for the same test. The highest verbal score was 600 (out of 800) and the highest math was 690 (out of 800).
These students will also be invited to participate in Summer Study Academies across the U.S. Congratulations to the following students!
State recognition (scores that are approximately equal to the 50th national percentile rank for college-bound seniors taking the test): Zeynep Dogan, Caleb Eden, Aiden Guild, Ethan Key, Sana Kohli, Cooper Long, Jeff Meller, Grant Miranda, Mia Petersen, Celeste Phemister, and Luke Wilson
Grand recognition (scores that are approximately equal to the 90th national percentile rank for college-bound seniors taking the test): Caleb Eden
