Author Sarah Weeks will visit The Oakridge School on Monday, October 30 for presentations with students in grades 1-6. Sarah Weeks is the award winning author of over thirty children's books. Oakridge fifth and sixth graders read Save Me a Seat this summer, a novel Mrs. Weeks coauthored with Gita Varadarajan.
A film adaptation of Mrs. Week's critically acclaimed New York Times bestselling book, So B. It, opened in theaters October 6 and is currently playing in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Mrs. Weeks will be at the Fort Worth Hulen Movie Tavern this Sunday, October 29 for question and answer sessions following the screenings of the 3:30 and 4:15 movie showings.
Common Sense Media recommends the film for youth aged 13 and up, and describes it as, "A touching coming-of-age drama about a 12 year old girl...Tweens and teens will relate to the character and may be inspired by her strength, perseverance, and courage."
