Victoria A. Farrar-Myers Recognized with Rising Star Award

Congratulations to Victoria A. Farrar-Myers, Ph.D. for being recognized as a Rising Star Award Recipient by the Women's Alliance of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. Victoria is a dedicated civic leader, an award-winning educator, distinguished scholar and Oakridge mom to Kyle, 1st grade.

Committed to helping build our community, Victoria currently serves on the Arlington City Council, District 7, representing the entire city in an at-large seat. She holds or has held leadership positions in civic organizations such as Leadership Arlington, The Rotary Club of Arlington, the Center for Transforming Lives (YWCA), and Junior League of Arlington.

As a highly respected educator, Dr. Farrar-Myers currently is a Senior Fellow in the Tower Center for Political Studies at Southern Methodist University. She previously served as a Full Professor, Distinguished Teacher Professor & Regents' Outstanding Teacher at the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Farrar-Myers has garnered multiple statewide and campus-wide teaching awards in recognition of her teacher excellence.

As a scholar, she has published five books and numerous articles and book chapters on topics related to leadership, political institutions, and democratic processes, and has received such prestigious honors as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellowship and a Fulbright Distinguished Chair in American Politics in Australia.

Victoria lives in Arlington with her husband of 25 years, Jason. We are proud to have Victoria, Jason and Kyle as part of our Oakridge family.
