Two Oakridge seniors will soon play college sports.
Katie Rogers has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at St. Edward's University in Austin. Cheyenne Reese signed a letter of intent to play basketball at North Country Community College in Saranac Lake, New York.
The two students thanked those who gathered at Oakridge on Wednesday, April 24 to shower them with support and encouragement. The group included Head of School Jon Kellam, Athletic Director Shawn Meadows, several coaches, teammates, classmates, school administrators, and family members.
"It doesn't matter what sport you're playing, you're a great competitor and have a great work ethic," Volleyball Coach June Boller said to Katie. Others shared similar sentiments about Cheyenne and spoke about what her friendship meant to her classmates.
Katie was Oakridge's starting goalie during all four years in Upper School. Cheyenne played point guard during all four years in US, as well. We wish both girls the very best in their academic and athletic pursuits!
