On July 1, Sarah Kramer will assume the role of Assistant Headmaster. Ms. Kramer brings 22 years of independent school experience to this appointment, including nine years leading the college advising team, placing more than 600 Oakridge students in hundreds of colleges across the country.
Prior to coming to The Oakridge School, Ms. Kramer spent eight years as Assistant Director of the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest, Oakridge’s accrediting organization comprised of 88 schools in six states, and five years as the Director of Communications at Fort Worth Country Day.
Ms. Kramer has taught computer classes at the middle school level and religious education classes at her church and also has served as a crisis counselor. At Oakridge, she has served on our Long Range Planning, Classroom Innovation, and Academic Steering Committees. She is a strategic thinker who is well versed in accreditation processes, professional development, and school improvement. She balances her depth and breadth of experience as an independent school leader with her specific knowledge of and passion for The Oakridge School.
She holds an MBA in nonprofit management from the University of Dallas, a journalism degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and is currently completing the master of science in education program at the University of Kansas.
Ms. Kramer is married to Brian Builta, and their children, Austin, tenth grade, and Anna, sixth grade, attend The Oakridge School.
