Faculty and Staff Recognized at End of Year Luncheon

Oakridge faculty and staff received special service awards, well-wishes, and hugs at a luncheon Wednesday, May 29 meant to put a bow on the 2018-2019 school year. 

Awards for 30 years of service went to: 2nd Grade Teacher Jana Kurrasch and College Advisor Peggy Pfursich. Awards for 25 years of service went to: Middle School Math Teacher Gail Roe. Those recognized for 20 years of service included:

  • Mara Townsley, Coach and ECC  
  • Sandra Skinner, Preschool   
  • Jamie McCarver, 1st grade 
  • Sue Knott, Upper School Math  
  • Jill Gaspar, Pre-Kindergarten
  • Jerry Davis, Upper School History  
  • Cheryl Cornwell, Accounting
  • Dianne Findley, Assistant Director of Choirs

Fifteen year service awards went to Upper School Chinese Teacher Wei-Ming Liu, Director of Senior Programs and US English Teacher Chris Renshaw, and Director of Development Lauren Matocha.

Middle School English Teacher Christiane Dreadin and Assistant Director of Technology and Modern Learning Ashley Read received awards for 10 years of service. Five year service awards were given to MS Math Teacher Lesley Benefield, US Math Teacher Joe Feldstein, and Librarian Patricia de Winter. 

Upper School Administrative Assistant Michelle Emmert received the inaugural Point of Light Award that honors the memory of Stephanie Pham.

Retirees or those faculty and staff members leaving Oakridge this year included: ECC Director Betty Garton, ECC Administrative Assistant Debbie Worlow, MS History Teacher Robby Koch, MS English Teacher and MS Public Speaking Specialist Amy Alsip, MS Art Teacher Patti Greenwood, US English Teacher Stephen Hebert, and Technology Assistant Nick Lane.
